I don’t know about you, but this has happened so many times to me when I absolutely loved a dress and had to keep it back because of its length ( if you haven’t noticed – I am kinda peanut-sized! ). A few years ago, in one of those frustrated moments, I even bought myself a sewing machine with the intent of altering the hem of my dresses. But, the sewing machine has the same fate as the mister’s guitar – both serving their duty as display pieces in our storage closet. So you can understand my happiness when I found a place where I can get a dress I love and get it custom-made per my liking. I was recently introduced to eShakti, a site where you can customize outfits per your height, size and style. The entire process is really fun – you pick the dress, make the size and height selections, then there are custom options such as sleeve length, pockets and neckline styles. ( did someone say pockets ? – I’ll take them in all my dresses , please! ) At times it’s the journey that matters more than the destination. In this case – I couldn’t be more pleased with both – the process and the final product. I already know that this dress will be getting a lot of attention this season with the number of weddings, showers, cook-outs and brunch-dates coming up. It’s the perfect spring dress and can be worn to work with a soft blazer.
