New York Fashion Week Fall ’14 – Recap

Fashion Week! Until this weekend, it was a concept – a legendary one – glamour of which was fed through re-runs of Sex and the City, a view into the out-of-this-world craziness through Devil wears Prada and all those hordes of magazines that made me a self-acclaimed expert on backstage model drama. So you can imagine my excitement when I got to attend my very first fashion week ( insert deafening squeal here ) in person and see it all live.

I attended theVane app launch which was sponsored by Air Optix and Hangar 1 Vodka. It was a fun event attended by some Boston and NJ-NY bloggers. Its always great to meet so many amazing people and making wonderful connections ( some that go beyond blogger events ) And nothing beats free-flowing mimosas especially after a 4hr bus ride from Boston to New York. Righto?

I had a handful of invites this year – a couple style events, an opening & an actual fashion show,  but unfortunately I couldn’t go to all of them due to work commitments during the week =( Getting the pass to the Malon Breton show was the highlight of my FW experience. The “Standing” seat felt no less than a front-row-reserved-seat honor ! Even though I couldn’t attend the show – I will treasure this as my very first ticket to Lincoln Center.

  1. I got to go to NYFW last year (and saw 4 shows!), and I wish so badly I was there right now. It truly is indescribable, and I’m glad you got to experience it. Here’s hoping that we’re both there in the spring!
