I have been waiting to share this dress with all of you. It needed a special day to be presented. Obviously it isn’t an ordinary dress by any means. Au contraire – its one of the most special pieces in my closet. What makes it so unique, Neha? – you ask! Before I give away the plot, let me tell you the one thing that my mom and I absolutely loved doing when I was in India, was going to fabric market, sifting through spools and spools of fabric, taking cutouts from magazines and running to the local tailor to get our visions created. This dress embodies our favorite activity and a million phone dates. Thanks to this wonderful service by Piol, mom & I designed this dress together irrespective of being in totally different continents. Picking the print, fabric, length options, trims, sleeve&neck designs – we spent hours on Skype, trying and arguing over different options of the final product and reminiscing about our shopping trips and fighting fittings from back in the day! =))

On this mother’s day, I just want to tell you mom how blessed I am to have a relation like ours – where distance and time zones become irrelevant when it comes to us spending time with each other. Presenting the real-life Lorelai&Rory guys – the fact that we are both Gilmore Girls fans – attests our crazy relation.

Today’s post  has been a very emotional one to write. I lost my grandmother last week and it has been the most difficult time I have ever been through. Until few days ago – I never quite understood the reality behind what people meant when they said that, when loved ones leave us to go to a better place – they become stars and become our guardian angels. But now I truly do believe with extreme faith that our grandmother (we called her jiji) is watching over all of us. Happy Mother’s day jiji!
