The trip to Berlin was by far one of the most memorable to date! It is a pretty city, no doubt. Lined with charming cafes, architecture to boast, vibrant culture – and what draws many, is its history. History around every corner, on every street and every monument. I have always wanted to visit this city – mainly because of the extensive reading I’ve done and WWII documentaries I have seen. It was an emotional experience for both Amit and I, but brought us in awe of this place ( and its people ), its resilience and how far and ahead it has come.
One our first day, we were hosted by the Pfefferbett. It was recommended to us by a Berlin local who we met on our South American backpacking trip. The hotel was a true reflection of Berlin – the warmest people and the cutest setting. We hung out with so many people at the bar – that is always one of most enriching experiences of any our travels.
Highlights and must visit/must do things in Berlin :
- Brandenburg Gate – we stopped by this gate atlleast three times in two days, to capture shots during different hours of the day
- Historical monuments, memorials and concentration camps ( if you are interested in the WWII history)
- Walk in the lush Tiergarten ( public garden )
- The Berliner Dom – my favorite in the city! Its even more beautiful in the night when it lights up and reflects in the canal, atop which it sits
This outfit has every piece that I would say is a closet must-have! I mean, how can you not have a crisp white button-down shirt, old-fashioned jeans & a light jacket to throw on? ( The answer is – no – you just cant! )
