The mister and I recently went on a little getaway to Lake Placid. It was a very last-minute plan, we wanted to take a break and just head out for a dose of dolce-niente. With the agenda consisting of relaxing and enjoying the serene surroundings – this trip exceeded all our expectations. It was relaxing, fun, romantic, luxurious – just what we needed!
We stayed at the Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa and were completely blown away by the property and the service. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a welcome platter – perfect for after the 5 hour drive from Boston to upstate New York. And when you realize that you can get freshly baked cookies at all hours of the day – you know it is going to be a sweet getaway =))
Resort entrance with flowers blooming in all their glory
Every morning, we had breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant and it was phenomenal!
The resort has its own private beach on the Mirror Lake and you get complimentary access to kayaks, paddle-boards and row boats to take out on the beautiful lake. Surrounded by the Adirondack Mountains, it is a little slice of heaven.
Outfit details : Striped sweater dress ( on sale! ), converse sneakers, belt, sunnies
Just sitting here or taking our kayak inside the water and simply floating was every bit of relaxing as it sounds. My favorite thing was to go in the middle of the lake early in the morning around sunrise and let it float. Only a rumbling stomach was my cue to go back to land =)) On the private beach is the Cottage restaurant – serving all kinds of goodness with a side of Mirror Lake’s finest views.
Outfit details: cold shoulder dress & love this maxi version, Goyard tote, sandals
The resort has one of the prettiest spas with an adjoining swimming pool – a stress relieving massage followed by chilling by the pool & aquatic fountains! It doesn’t get more relaxing than that.
While we were pretty casual ( and even lived in our robes ) for most of our stay, we dressed up for dinner at The View restaurant. It is the most renowned high-end dining restaurant in Lake Placid and it did not disappoint.
Outfit details : pink sweater – another version here, fringe skirt, YSL wallet on a chain, pumps, sunnies
A 5-course meal, candlelight dinner and a view of the lake – I am sure I gained a few pounds just with that one meal =))
Usually, I get very anxious about taking too much of a break or being away from my laptop for hours at length. But on this trip, I don’t know if it was the luxury of the place we stayed at or the beauty of the nature we were surrounded with – I really was able to lay back, read books, take naps …
Outfit details : Cenzo weekender bag, favorite striped top
I was told by the staff, that during Christmas you can ask them to put a tree in your room and if you see pictures of the rest during winter time, you’ll understand why I cannot wait to go back. I highly recommend heading to the resort if you are looking to take a quick vacation, don’t want to spend too much time planning something and want to have a mirrory good time – xo Neha
A huge thank you to The Mirror Lake Inn and Resort for hosting us. All opinions are my own.
