Marc New York White Puffer Jacket from Wilsons Leather, cashmere pullover, white skinny jeans, over the knee boots, Cuyana top handle bag, sunnies

There’s just something about the first snow that makes it so magical. I am still mesmerized with it as I was the very first time! This year, my mom is here in Boston visiting us right now and she got to experience snow for the first time. Mom and I both woke up early that day and stood by the window looking at the tiny snowflakes slowly coming down. It was so much fun.  It was Zoe’s first snow as well – and I am that crazy obsessed mother who pens down every first of her little one… first time when it snowed, first time when we took her to the restaurant, first time when she cooed, you get the idea =))

There are a few staples in my closet that make dressing up for the winters fun and are equally functional.

Pullover / Sweater for Layering :  You can never have too many sweaters, especially if you live in New England. While I love bulky ones for throw on and go days, light ones are perfect for layering with vests or jackets. I love this shimmery cashmere one – it is perfect for slightly dressier occasions as well and I have this turtleneck in four colors.

Tights : I swear by these faux leather tights! They are the ultimate bottoms for winter dressing and so flattering. I wear them so much that I had to buy a second one in the same color.  I also love white skinny jeans – they look very chic with neutrals especially against snowy backdrops =))

Beanie : These are my absolute favorite winter accessories. Wilsons Leather has such a variety of styles – loving the classic style and this fun hat with pom-poms and faux fur trimming. And besides, beanies are a mom outfit’s best friends!

Boots : If my footwear is not correct – my brain stops working. I am not even exaggerating. Who wouldn’t be grumpy if your feet are wet or shoes are slippery, right? I had invested in these snow boots a few years ago and they remain one of my go-tos on snowy days. For cold days, these over the knee  are my favorites. I also wear Hunters with the thick socks in the snow and they are pretty good as well.

Jacket : I had been looking for a white jacket for the longest time and was so excited to find this one. It is quite warm and the fur trim in the hood gives it such a chic look. For that matter, any fur detail to your winter look will elevate the look. Fur trimmed hoodies, fur scarves or even a fur detail on vests or jackets makes the ensemble stylish.

And now for a fabulous giveaway to win a $200 Giftcard towards a shopping spree at Wilsons Leather. Good luck – xo
