Bandana-it Up !!

Today was such a phenomenal day ! I went white water rafting in western Massachusetts with my man and a few of our close friends. The truth is , I was beyond terrified of doing this – because for one- I am not the best swimmer in the world and secondly, I had heard so many stories of people falling off the raft and getting carried away..blah blah..
But it is so rightly said – What would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything?”

I am glad I did – because now I know,  I would have missed something just because of the fear in my head.
However, tbt- I did resort to a lot of  cheering-like-non-stop-screaming to mask my fear 🙂

We had plans to go for lunch after our rafting trip. Since I knew , that I wouldn’t be getting a chance to wash my hair until I got home –
I used a bandana to wrap my wet/entangled/all-over-the-place tresses.

Bandanas are not just for rockstars ! They can be used to create retro or rocker  looks very easily.
All you gotta do is –

  • fold the bandana ( or a handkerchief ) in a triangle or fold it until it its about 2-3″ wide
  • pull your hair back or twist into a bun or pull up a ponytail
  • wrap it around and tie a knot at the nape of your neck, or on top of your head in a bow

You can  style your hair with bandanas especially when you don’t have time to wash it or are simply feeling lazy 🙂

Playing with neons & pastels

Neons are THE COLORS of this season.

Personally, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to try on something that was all neon. ( may be its because, for some stupid reason , I feel that neons just don’t go with my complexion … don’t pay attention to me 😐  )
Not wanting to go all in – I decided to try my neon-yellow skirt with something lighter. ( and I love it – isnt it fun when such small risks pay off 🙂

I feel like its like moving along with the yin& the yang… where 2 pieces complement each other so well  – they make up a whole.

I am also wearing my two favorite pieces – the bird charm necklace ( aren’t all the charms dangling off it so cute ) and the very much in fashion earcuff  !

Neons and pastels are both a rage this season.. Try whipping out pieces from your closet and have fun with these palettes !

Easy Breezy Summer Essentials

As the mercury rises , our hands and minds automatically start gravitating towards shorts, cottons and tanks in the closet.
But not all heat waves need to be faced with super-short shorts.
There are so many fun and flirty ways you can add the oomph to the lightweight outfits.

Here are some of  my picks for the summer – to stay cool and stylish and not break the bank at the same time 🙂

Floral Inspirations ~

I am such a summer-girl (#summergirl – you know what I mean if you follow me on instagram 🙂 ) and I love all things floral. This dress is my new bff everytime I open my closet. I want to wear it allday – everyday
The cool part about this dress is – its self-designed 🙂
My mom and I went fabric hunting, when I was in Bombay last month and put our heads together to finalize the silhouette.

(That’s actually something my mom and I love doing everytime I go home – all year round we keep taking notes of things that inspire us – and then when we get-together , we go fabric hunting and give life to our ideas 🙂 ( more to come on this soon … )

Another thing I like about this dress , is that its very versatile – can be worn during the day with flip-flops and with pumps for a dinner-date.

Changing seasons provide so much inspiration – we just need to look around and find what complements our style.
Look around and see what inpires you & think about how it can be incorporated in your daily style and lives 🙂
